teak decking for boats

PSP Southampton Boat 2012

PSP Southampton Boat2012

Many cruisers and yachts will be on display at the PSP Southampton Boat show this week.

Some of the best boats on the market will be on show at purpose-built marinas as the latest must-have toys of the super-rich arrive in town.

Among the yachts on show will be Fairline's £1million+  Squadron 60, a true style icon which boasts an entertainment area with griddle, fridge, sink and icemaker, sunbeds with non-absorbent foam-filled cushions and an iPod dock with waterproof speakers.

The master and guest cabins have teak floors, flat screen TVs, Venetian blinds, and silent-flush freshwater toilets for those that desire that sort of thing.

And there is a submersible bathing platform so you can take a cooling dip without even leaving the comfort of the yacht.

True sun-worshippers might prefer to splash out on a Fairline Targa 62 Gran Tourismo, with its lavish open cockpit with bar and luxuriously large sunpad – making it perfect for days with the family or evening cocktail parties with friends. The Fairline also has a garage which houses a Williams 325 jet tender.

The show  runs from 14 – 23 September, and features more than 2km of pontoons and 1,000 boats.

Some of the boats on show:

Williams & Smithells Allures 45: The water cruising yacht is specifically designed for long distance sailing and features a lifting keel, with a rounded aluminium hull for fast, yet safe cruising. The Allures 45 is fitted with an advance technology steering system and the yacht’s interior is perfectly suited to life at sea and is available in three models - each version can be customised to meet individual requirements.

Fairline Targa 62GT: The powerful sports cruiser is the largest Targa in the range and is perfect for sun-worshippers and those wanting spacious and sociable entertainment areas. The 62GT has a gorgeous open cockpit with bar and a luxuriously large sunpad – making it perfect for enjoying days with the family or evening cocktail parties with friends. The Targa 62GT has a garage which perfectly houses a Williams 325 jet tender and features a hydraulic hi-lo platform, which is a first for the Targa range. Price: £892,300

New Princess 56: The new Princess 56 perfectly combines a spacious and exquisitely appointed interior with an exhilarating performance and highly sociable exterior deck layout. The expansive cockpit features a teak dining table and generous seating and teak-laid steps either side lead to the bathing platform which can be fitted with an optional hydraulic raise/lower mechanism to ensure easy stowage, launch and recovery of a tender. For panoramic views, dining can also be enjoyed on the spacious flybridge where further seating surrounds a second al fresco dining table which is serviced via the large wetbar complete with sink, refrigeration and electric barbecue. Sight lines from the upper helm are exceptional and controls mirror those of the lower station. Twin helm seats are complemented by a versatile ‘L’ shaped companion seat to starboard which can also be easily converted into a sun bed. Price TBC
